Red symbolizes power, action, it is a color that is associated with vitality, ambition and passion. He brings self-confidence, courage, bravery and an optimistic attitude towards life. Success, triumph, war, blood, strength, take action and achieve goals.

Since Valentino popularized his “Valentino Red” there was no diva who resisted the sensual power of this color: Jacqueline Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn or Sophia Loren. And, although Valentino in this case did not put his signature, the great passion for the color red came with the premiere of  Pretty Woman (1990), where a transformed Julia Roberts eclipsed all eyes with a red dress by the costume designer Marilyn Vance. A legendary and must-have garment that automatically became an absolute fashion icon.

Currently the legend of the color red continues and there is no doubt that it is one of the main trends of this fall 2020. We have seen it in fashion shows such as Valentino, Alberta Ferretti, Carolina Herrera, Christopher Kane, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga , Mugler, Rodarte or Giambattista Valli

Pierpaolo Piccioli gave us his take on the brand’s signature hue in a stunning bright red high neck dress. Rodarte purist in the choirs and with French dots, and Bottega Veneta gave us the perfect evening dress, while Balenciaga’s super skinny red pant combo was somewhere between Madame Grés and an especially fierce dancer. In other words, there are many ways to get the red look this season and none of them will leave us indifferent.
