Alton Mason, model and dancer of 22 years, entered the history of fashion by becoming the first professional male and African American model to walk for Chanel in the 109 years of the brand, at the annual event “Metiers d’Art Show” in Paris.

Mason, Jamaican and Ghanesian descent, made his catwalk debut thanks to Kayne West, at the presentation of his “Yeezy 3” collection at Madison Square Garden in New York. Shortly thereafter, he was chosen by Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michelle to star in the Fall 2017 campaign and walk in its 2018 Cruise collection.

After the success achieved, Mason joined the famous agency IMG in Paris, Milan, London, Australia and L.A. and since then has become one of the most value models by the designers. Heron Preston, Louis Vuitton, Off White, Versace, Etro, Ralph Laurent, Missoni, Jeremy Scott, Tommy Hilfiger, Fenty, Valentino or Fendi, are some of the biggest names.

In addition to making editorials for the most prestigious magazines such as Vogue, L’Officiel, GQ, V magazine or Numero Homme, among others, he has also starred in campaigns for NIKE, Karl Lagerfeld, Adidas, Salvatore Ferragamo or Lady Million de Rabanne, the latter influencers such as Levy Dylan (Bob Dylan’s son), Dree Hemingway, Londone Myres, Joey Badass and Simona Kust.

An unstoppable and unprecedented career that has led to him being named the Model of the Year 2019 by the renowned web Models.com, Man of the Year 2019 by GQ magazine and one of the most influential models of 2019 by Business of Fashion magazine.

Alton Mason closed 2019 at the height of her career and this 2020 has started by stepping on a splendid editorial for Vogue Australia by Malian-born photographer Malick Sidibe and alongside female model of the year Adut Akech.
